We are pleased to inform you about are plans to continue together with Farm Dairy: Farm Dairy intends to acquire Veco Zuivel. Subject to approval by the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), naturally. By joining forces, we create a stronger company that is ready for the future.

Farm Dairy and Veco Zuivel complement each other perfectly. In terms of production, supply chain and product portfolio. Both organizations have extensive knowledge and experience in fresh dairy. Veco Zuivel’s portfolio contains several products and packages that fit seamlessly with Farm Dairy’s wishes and are complementary to the current assortment of Farm Dairy, such as organic dairy, buttermilk, cottage cheese, cups, buckets and small drinking cartons. We will be able to offer our customers an enlarged and more varied portfolio. This fits perfectly in the strategy of Farm Dairy for the coming years, that will be significantly accelerated with this collaboration.

At Farm Dairy we strongly believe in sustainable milk flows, such as organic, On the way to PlanetProof and Beter Leven Keurmerk (BLK). More than 50% of the processed milk in our plant in Lelystad is PlanetProof, followed by meadow milk and fewer organic milk. As Veco Zuivel is specialized in organic dairy and is certified in BLK milk, we complement each other very well. Veco Zuivel even stood at the cradle of BLK dairy. In addition, we see a growing need among our customers for their own (closed) sustainable milk flows, often in cooperation with farmers. Together, Farm Dairy and Veco are better equipped to meet this demand and wil be able to accelerate the volume of sustainable milk on the Dutch market.

We will be moving forward as one strong company with two production sites: our current factories in Lelystad (Farm Dairy) and Zeewolde (Veco Zuivel). This gives space to Veco’s brand activities as well, such as Betsie’s (goat milk and yogurt), Bessola Krentjebrij, Flevomel and Vecozuivel organic. And to products in food service, b-to-b and export, which are a welcome addition to Farm Dairy’s activities.
Together, Farm Dairy and Veco Zuivel are a medium-sized dairy supplier. With approximately 200 employees, we will annually process 250-300 million liters of milk into fresh dairy products such as milk, yogurt, custard, cottage cheese and butter. Our milk is from Dutch farmers only, and supplied by various partners. Jointly we will be able to continuously facilitate our customers.

Both locations have their own strengths, knowledge and experience. We aim to learn from each other as much as possible, and to utilize production capacity of both plants maximally. This collaboration is a promising step forward on all fronts, for Farm Dairy, Veco Zuivel, customers and employees.

All of the above is subject to approval by the ACM. We feel confident in a positive outcome.
